New Extra Credit Photo Challenge

Creative Challenge-Collage

We have a new extra credit Challenge going right now:

Another Creative Challenge-COLLAGE

The Self Portrait Challenge seemed fun & successful, so I wanted to add another this
week.  Again, you can enter anytime you want.

The collage can be of anything...you decide, post it on your blog, come back here &
leave a link. You can add a little explanation on what you did & why.   PLEASE
follow GUIDELINES (use permalinks).  Like the last creative challenge, there will
 be no judging.

I have posted these collages in past entries, years apart.  I won't make you go back through the archives to find them, I am putting all three collage examples up here for this extra credit.  I have done other collages of sailboat regattas, too, but hey, that would just be overkill, LOL.

I saw in another entry on this Extra Credit Challenge some editing techniques that are new to me and I want to spend some time learning how to create in a similar fashion.  Don't be surprised if you see more collage samples in the future.

This is the first collage I ever attempted with my digital camera which, at the time, was a Fujinon.  I was inspired by our newly acquired kittens.

Most of my long time readers have come to know about our cat Emmie and the special bond that developed between the two of us.  This collage was inpired by Emmie.

This final collage was done over two years ago to demostrate the process of removing huge items of debris that gets trapped in our marina from time to time.  These items, if left in the river, would prove to be a danger to any boat.  They are hard to see and easy to hit.

I wish I had the time right now to experiment with the new techniques I have observed, but I must finish two loads of laundry that are both in progress and get ready for a road trip tomorrow.

Paulette has to attend a training seminar in Athens, Georgia, about a four and a half hour drive from here.  I have taken a few vacation days to drive her there.  I will take my PC with me, (the hotel advertises wireless internet), and my guitar as well as my camera.  I'll amuse myself each day while she is in her training sessions and I hope to return with some good photos.  The hotel is on the grounds of the University of Georgia, so I am gauranteed some interesting sights right off the bat!  We will return home on Wednesday.  For all the thieves and burglars out there, Sandy will be remaining at home.  (Just kidding J-Land, I have more trust in you than that, LOL).

If you see a guy on a street corner in Athens, Georgia over the next few days playing guitar with a cup on the ground in front of him, toss in a coin or two, it could be me and you know what the price of gas is these days.  (WINK)!

I think you should get someone to take a picture of that guy on the corner, LOL.  I hope you have a great time.  When I was overseas in GE, a lady used to each training courses and her then-retired husband would come with her...that is how they got to see Europe together.  I thought it was  a great idea!  Glad you are taking advantage of the trip and going with her and hope you both have a wonderful visit.

What wonderful collages of your kitties Sam! Wish Paulette luck from me for her training, I always start to doze after a couple of hours in a training room! I've got training on Monday too, I'll try to stay awake! I hope you make lots of money busking so you can afford to get back home again! ROFL! Jeannette xx

I love, love your cat photo's.  There are a lot of different things you can do to enhance your work, but I'm too lazy to fool with it most of the time.  Gas is rediculous, but I doubt it will send you to the streets with a cup...lol.  Have a good time and get some good photo's.

I would be inspired by those adorable kitten faces too Sam!  I love photo collages and I'm thinking now ... what to do?  what to do?  I'll get 'round to it ... all in good time.

Hope your few days away will be interesting and fun-filled!

These are great!   Love the kitty ones....who wouldn't?  Making a collage is a bit more difficult than it looks, but I think it might be a bit easier with some of the more basic photo editors out there.  It was almost instinctive for me using Picture It, but I just can't quite get the hang of it with Photoshop.  I'm technoslow sometimes.

Sam, you are inspiring me to try some of these challenges, but @ the same time I know I probably don't have the time to work on it as I would need to... nor do I have the time to LEARN how to use my camera & the software.  BUT what a great way to learn, right???  If I would just put the effort into it!  There was a time when I would sit down & play, play, play w/tutorials to learn something inside and out.  Every now & then I'll come across something I did "way back when" and still amaze myself...  and then I ponder, "hey, what happen to that me?"  I mean, c'mon.  Where'd I go?

Great pics :)
Hope you all had a good trip.

Terrific job on the collages, and I know that they sure take a lot of work. I'd say you've earned a few days of R & R. If I happen to wander by and see you strumming, I'll be sure to drop a few coins in the cup.

Then you can ask me what the heck I'm doing all the way down there, and point me back home. Have a good time!

Again, great job on the photos!

Emmie is beauitful! The collage came out perfect! I'm having problems hooking up my printer to my new Dell, or I would have done the Photo Challage myself-I think I'll have to call tech support! Have a safe trip and we will be looking forward to those pictures! ~Diane~

You did good, Sam.  You did good :)

I remember those dock shots!  That was a lot of work.  I'm sure the captains and crews appreciated the efforts, though.

Emmie is so cute, but I'm vaguely remembering the kitty story... all those little kittens, bet that was fun!  I love to watch them play  :)
