Great news!

This will be short, but I knew you all wanted to know.  I just got off the phone with Bill.  He is being released from the hospital tonight and is expected to make a full recovery.  He has promised to come by my dock shack when he can so that I can give him a big hug!  I am so relieved and happy!  This has been a life changing experience for me.

I'm so pleased that Bill is OK. He owes his life to you and Kevin, I'm just so glad you were there for him. It'll be great for you two to meet up under less dramatic circumstances this time!! Jeannette.

am so happy about Bill. My son in law did  study for the company that makes  one of those shock units quite some time ago and showed that many lives could be saved if they were in certain places. Sure glad you had one there!! Prayers were answered too!   Barb

Sam, I would love to be a fly on the dock for this one! I'd probably just go into the "ugly" cry, so I'll just be happy for you both from here :)

Hi Sam, thanks for popping over and leaving the compliments.  Continued prayer for your friend, hon'.  How's that little man of yours?  Hope the adjustment has been painless. ;)  C.  http://journals.aol.com/gdireneoe/thedailies

I am so happy!  You did a great job, kiddo.  Salt water drowning is the worst.  If you all hadn't reacted quickly and efficiently, it would have done A LOT more damage.  I know this has been a big deal for you.  Take it easy, let it sink in. And be careful out on that dock!

Sam,

Glad to hear Bill is on the mend...he is very fortunate that you were there.  What an ordeal for all involved...sounds like everyone present knew exactly what to do, and that's a blessing.   In California during the 1980s, all graduating seniors were required to take and pass a CPR certification class before graduation; while a handful of 'concerned' parents were against the requirement I think it's a great idea.  What could be better than knowing how to save another life?

Nothing.  It is life changing too...at any given moment everything can change.

Thanks for reminding me of that.
